Terrence Joyner from Mississippi Valley State has been selected for StatSheet's SWAC Player of the Week for February 6th. Derrell Taylor from Jackson State has won StatSheet SWAC Freshman of the Week. And finally, Mississippi Valley State's Cor-J Cox is StatSheet's SWAC 6th Man of the Week. Joyner put up big numbers in rebounding (5 per game), shooting (50%), and scoring (13 pts per game). The Mississippi Valley State senior put these numbers up in wins versus Grambling State and Alabama State.

Joyner posted 11 points and 10 assists in 35 minutes in a 77-59 win over Grambling State. He followed that up with 15 points on 55% shooting in a 70-58 win over Alabama State.

This is the first time that Terrence Joyner has been named the StatSheet SWAC Player of the Week. The runner-up this week is senior Paul Crosby from Mississippi Valley State. Honorable mention goes to sophomore Daniel Broughton from Arkansas-Pine Bluff. The highest ranking player from Alcorn State was Michael Starks who finished fifth.

StatSheet SWAC Freshman of the Week: Jackson State's Derrell Taylor

Derrell Taylor played an average of 31 minutes starting both games for Jackson State. His average in rebounding (9.0 per game) was the best among all SWAC freshmen. In a 73-69 loss to Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Taylor led the Tigers in rebounding with 7 and added 2 assists. In a 57-46 loss to Alcorn State, he put up 9 points and 11 rebounds.

This is the first StatSheet SWAC Freshman of the Week honor for Derrell Taylor. Our own KeDorian Sullivan gets runner-up. Honorable mention goes to our own Xavian Rimmer.

StatSheet SWAC 6th Man of the Week: Mississippi Valley State's Cor-J Cox

Senior Cor-J Cox, a 6-5 reserve guard, averaged 24 minutes over the two games for the Delta Devils. In the win against Grambling State, Cox added 10 rebounds and 71% shooting. During the win against Alabama State, he racked up 4 rebounds and 2 assists.

Cor-J Cox has won the StatSheet SWAC 6th Man of the Week an amazing 6 times. Our own Michael Starks is the runner up. Fred Sturdivant, a junior forward from Texas Southern, receives honorable mention. Alcorn State players have not yet been named StatSheet SWAC Player of the Week this season.
