StatSheet's SWAC Player of the Week for January 30th goes to Southern University's Quinton Doggett. StatSheet's SWAC Freshman of the Week goes to Thomas Marshall from Southern University. Finally, Fred Sturdivant from Texas Southern takes home StatSheet's SWAC 6th Man of the Week. Doggett put up 13 points per game, 7 rebounds per game, and 70% shooting. The Southern University senior played well in victories versus Alabama State and Alcorn State.

Doggett led all scoring and rebounding for the Jaguars with 17 points and 8 rebounds in a 68-56 win against Alabama State. In the next game he added 9 points and 2 blocked shots in a 65-54 victory against Alcorn State.

This is the first StatSheet SWAC Player of the Week award for Quinton Doggett. However, he has finished second once. The runner-up this week is Grambling State junior Quincy Roberts. Honorable mention goes to Texas Southern junior Fred Sturdivant.

StatSheet SWAC Freshman of the Week: Southern University's Thomas Marshall

Thomas Marshall was on the floor an average of 21 minutes while starting both games for Southern University. In the win over Alabama State, Marshall tallied 3 points and 3 rebounds. Then in the win against Alcorn State, he added 6 points and 2 rebounds.

This is a first for Thomas Marshall, who has never won the StatSheet SWAC Freshman of the Week. The runner-up is David Copeland from Grambling State. Derrell Taylor from Jackson State takes honorable mention. KeDorian Sullivan, who finished 5th, was the highest ranking freshman for Alcorn State.

StatSheet SWAC 6th Man of the Week: Texas Southern's Fred Sturdivant

Fred Sturdivant, a junior and a 6-7 forward, averaged 26 minutes over two games for the Tigers. In a 77-69 loss to Mississippi Valley State, Sturdivant put up 5 blocked shots and 57% shooting. After that, in a 73-61 win over Alabama A&M, he led all scoring and rebounding with 19 points and 11 rebounds.

This makes 3 times that Fred Sturdivant has won the StatSheet SWAC 6th Man of the Week award this season. Cor-J Cox, a senior guard from Mississippi Valley State, is runner up. Marcellus Jackson, a junior forward from Prairie View A&M, earns honorable mention. Alcorn State has yet to win StatSheet SWAC Player of the Week.
